I watched The Searchers last night for the first time. This is a movie that you can easily overthink, and it’s been overthought — all critics and directors across the world LOVE THIS WESTERN — and I look forward to overthinking it too sometime when I’m more bored than usual. But good god, this has got to be one of the more gorgeous final stills in “filmdom.” I cannot find it on a poster.
